Unsecured backup

Hi All,

I need to take an unsecured backup of my secured database.
I know when you run the security wizard an unsecured
backup is produced. However if i do this will the
permissions change/revert back to standard settings? Or is
there anything else i should be aware of when ddoing this?

Thanks
Emma

Don't run the security wizard to create a backup. All you need to do is
copy the file while everyone is out.

Simply because I need to....

If i just take a copy of the db it will be secured? and
i'd need the workgroup to open it? I know it isn't this
easy because when people write to say they've been locked
out because they've changed the workgroup admin group you
can't just copy it and expect it to be unsecured.

Please can someone just tell me what will happen to the
permissions if i just run the security wizard again! Or
how to make an unsecured backup from the db itself.

Thanks
Emma

Fine. I suspect that there is something easier you could do, if you
explained what you wanted to accomplish, rather than how.

Yes is will.

Yes you would. You could then go through the steps to unsecure the copy.

Of course, you'd have to do this every time you made a backup, but that is
what you'd need to do.
