Unscheduled updates - 3 x Vista and 2 x Win XP

Is it my imagination, or are these non-Patch-Tuesday security updates
becoming more and more frequent?

2 just arrived on Win XP Pro (KB976098 and KB973687) and 3 on Vista
business (same similar).

no you are not crazy, I got them too
and I do not like this method because I take care of 40 computers on a
monthly basis and I already did 30 of them, now I have to go back and do
these darn security updates.
why can't microsoft just issue them on patch tuesday?
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

It could have to do with what time they came out yesterday. I was away
for a few days and didn't turn my XP computer on until around 4pm, and
there they were. Checking MS Update just now - Wed 9:40am MT - there
are no high priority updates.

Btw, happy feasting tomorrow. I'm off to a nephew's Bar Mitzvah in
LA. About the only time you'll find me in shul.

Non security updates are released on the last Tuesday of each month. It
has been this way for quite some time now.

Security updates are released on the second Tuesday of each month.

Hi Robin,

No, you do not need the client computers in your network (subnet). You
can have any number of client computers anywhere you wish. The WSUS
server is just a web application and all that is required is to have
port 80 or a port of choosing to be open for communication between the
client and the WSUS server.

Just so you guys know,

NONE of this topic thread has been transmitted to the WebView at of
8:45pm CST USA
FYI

It would appear that what ever server/service that transmits/forwards
NNTP posts to the webview is down again.

You might want to be aware of this in case you reply to a post that a
user may have made using the WebView.

Hopefully this will not take forever to get fixed again :-(

Happy Thanksgiving to Every One :)

?:)
