My daughter sent me a URL for I site I've been looking for.
Outlook 2003 displayed:

"You are now viewing this message in the Internet Zone.
Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe
attachments: obit.url."

How can I turn this blocking off? How can I get this URL since the
mail message was now blank. I believe she was using IE on her office
PC and just picked the "Mail To" button to send me the URL. I guess
IE sends the URL's as attachments.

I normally leave the messages on my ISP's server for a week so if
there was a way to turn off this blocking and a way to re-download
messages, I should be able to get another copy.

I believe Outlook 2003 totally blocks these types of attachments. Seems kind
of silly to me. I mean MS makes the browser with that ability, but Outlook
will block those attachments. See Help>Security> Attachment file types
blocked by Outlook. The type of attachment IE sends for that link is a Level
1 blocked file (see that help file for what that means).

As a work around, you can just send links via copy and paste. If you are
using Firefox, there is an extension called Copy URL that works good. It
won't open a message for you, but it will copy the page title, and URL to
clipboard.

For help with controlling access to blocked attachments in Outlook 2000 SP2
and later, look here:

Cutting and pasting a link into an e-mail message still works with no
blocking problems...it's just sending an URL from IE or something like that,
as your daughter must have done.
