Unrecoverable error when opening Quickbooks

Help!

I keep getting the following error after installing and trying to open
Quickbooks:

An unrecoverable error has occurred
Exception MSXML could no CoCreateInstance HRESULT=80040154 thrown with error
code -2147221164

Function: ADR::Repository::DoInitialLoad

This happened when I tried to install and use both Quickbooks Pro 2004, and
Quickbooks Premium: Wholesale Edition. I am running Windows XP, with SP2
installed.

I've searched everywhere for help, with no luck. Can anyone help me?
