Kevin

I have an MSN account, and use MSN email. 3 people are using this same
account with different computers. My email address is not the primary email
address, but the passport associated with my user account on my computer is
my MSN email account. The logon screen displays the unread mail in the
primary MSN account holder's email address, not mine. How can I change it so
it displays unread email in my email account? thanks, Kevin

Compliments of Kelly:

Use TweakUI/Logon/Unread Mail and Repair/Unread Mail Count
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Disable Unread Mail on the Welcome Screen (Line 100)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

To remove an account or to change the count manually:

Start>Run>Regedit>navigate to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\[Your
E-Mail Address]. In the right pane modify: Message Count, Change it to 0.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail. In
the right pane modify: MessageExpiryDays Change it to 0.

Thanks for both replies. Why does MSN set up the logon screen so it shows
the total of unread emails for everyone who has email under our MSN account?
That doesn't make any sense. It would seem like the unread email
notification should be linked somehow to the passport associated with
windows. Kevin

I have a computer with two users on a 3 computer home network running XP
Pro, both users have unread mail notifications at the logon when in fact
there is no unread mail. They are using Outlook and the same .pst file, is
there any way to clear the notications so they are correct?

Thanks for your help.
Bob

I have a slightly different problem, I have a computer running xp pro that
has two users and is part of a three computer home network. At the logon
screen both users have a notification of unread email messages, neither of
which is right. Both users are using Outlook and the same .pst file. Is
there anyway to clear the notification to get it correct?

Thanks for any help
