Unmounting A Disk Drive

J

John V. Kjellman

Is there any way in WINXP, as there is in other OSes such
as LINUX and UNIX, to unmount a disk drive so that it
appears to WINDOWS that it doesn't exist (but can be
remounted and accessed when desired)?

Why? I'm doing disk image copies to backup disk drives,
and I don't want to deal with all the extra partitions in
day-to-day use of the machine.

Thanks for any suggestions. My drives are ultra160 scsis.
