i am upgrading a computer from 98 to xp home. after i finished and it
rebooted windows would not start due to a missing library file "hal.dll"
so i used the floppy boot disks. at the completion of disk 6 i recieved this
error: unmountable boot drive 0x000000ED
(0x816BCA00, 0xC000003F, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

in microsofts support section the 2 listed causes of this error are 1.)UDMA
problems, i've double checked that; and 2.)damaged file system that can be
fixed from the recovery console, but the hex error listed for that problem
doesnt match my error code. help???? any ideas at all
