Unmatched Files in FrontPage 2003

After uprgrading to FrontPage 2003 from 2000, I have about 100 pages (out of
550) that consistenty have an "unmatched" status. After reading other
comments, I have tried the following (all unsuccessfully):

Published all files from Remote Server to local web site; this provided a
temporary fix until I opened another page and returned to the publish screen.

Closed FP, removed all hidden .web files, and reopened FP.

Opened the live/remote site and published all files to a different folder my
HD; deleted old copy by right clicking the folder within FP and selecting
"delete" after verifying information. Closed FP, removed all hidden .web
files, and reopened FP; upon opening the publish screen, the files again had
an "unmatched" status.

Made one small change (added a space in a cell) to one file on local web to
cause the status of the file to show "changed", uploaded the file from local
to remote. When upload was complete, the status was "unchanged". The status
reverted back to "unmatched" when I changed views to open another file and
returned to the publish screen.

These "unmatched" files have not been changed/altered in any way (with
exception as noted above as a test) and do not contain any components that
are different than other pages in my website. For example, according to both
the local and remote web site panes, one file was last changed on June 29,
2004, but still appears as "unmatched".

Using Windows XP, FP 2003. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank
you in advance.

Since the upgrade, have you done a complete/full publish between locations?

Thank you for your response. Yes, I have published all files from the remote
server to my HD. I then published all files to the remote server. Since
that did not work, I published all files from the remote server again to a
new folder and uploaded all files again from the new folder with the same end
result.

Launch FrontPage and open your local web and then switch to folder view.
Then on the status bar, click Remote web.
Log in when prompted.
When you have both websites open, click the Synchronize radio button on the bottom right
part of the window, and then click Publish web.
