Unknown service installed

Does anyone know what program installs and uses the dvpapi.exe service. I
recently installed IE7 and Verizon Internet Security Suite (VISS). On
infrequent occasions VISS slows my computer to a crawl and uses 98% cpu time.
Cannot get any solultion from MS or Verizon.
I'm pretty sure it's a conflict of A/V programs but I don't find or have
another A/V program installed.

| dvpapi.exe is a process belonging to Authentium Antivirus.
|
| Can also be Command Software Systems, Inc. - Anti Virus
|
| I think that Authentium bought Command Software.
|
| Verizon Internet Security Suite may use Authentium Antivirus, the web site
| doesn't say

F-Prot, Authentium, Command, etc, are all the same Engine and sinatures :)

The Frisk F-Prot engine and signatures are OEMd often and the following has a PARTIAL
list...

dvpapi.exe is part of the F-Prot Win32 AV protection and is the core NT Service

Appreciate your efforts my friends.
I too did a little investigating and found another thread on A/V security.

There wasn't really a concensus on the exact products, however they all seemed to believe that Authentium provides the dvpavi.exe as a 'plug in' (for lack of a better definition) to a number of A/V security providers, including Verizon's Freedom F/W.

Freedom AV is by RadialPoint (formally Zero Knowledge) and is an OEM of Frisk F-prot.

It is most often provided to ISPs.
