unknown pop-up

Can someone help me with this please? I keep getting a
Microsoft Internet Explorer pop-up which states: "Cannot
find ". Make sure the path or Internet address is
correct."
As many times as I click "okay" or close the window it
keeps coming back. I have no idea where it came from,
what it's referring to or how to get rid of it. I've
never had this problem before. Can someone tell me how to
get rid of this thing permanently?
Thanks.

maryellen,
The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).
