Hi all,

I have the normal connection icon on my taskbar
(the 2 monitor type icon), and my lan icon. I'm on dialup.

There is also another connection, exactly the same icon,
but I dont know what it is. (I have a PCI firewire card).

BUT the option, for the firewire card to show icon in notification
area isnt ticked under My network places.

And it doesnt tell me what it is, when I hover the mouse
over it, like it does with the dialup and LAN connection.

I also have a PCI TV tuner, WHICH did appear as a TV connection
when I installed it. BUT this doesnt appear in My Network places now.

Would it be this?? If so, how would I tell it not to show in the
taskbar, if I cant see the icon??

This unidentified icon doesnt flash (like data is coming or going),
so it doesnt look like someone or something is somehow going thru
this system. I use NIS 2005 updated and XP SP2. Any ideas??

Thanx

1394 Connection icon perhaps? Check Control Panel > Network Connections,
R/Click 1394 Connection and uncheck "Show Icon in Notification Area".

Colin.

Should read "R/Click 1394 Connection, Properties and uncheck "Show Icon in
Notification Area"."
