I purchased a 6-in-1 USB cardreader, installed it in my
PC and did a clean install of XP. However the cardreader
keeps finding Unknown Device as driver, instead of USB
Mass Storage. If I remove and reinstall, it keeps coming
up with same. Anyone experienced this before ?

You installed the 6-1 reader AND then installed XP?

If XP is installed, open device manager, remove all your USB
devices (including the card reader) and re-boot. Plug and
play will detect each device and install it fresh.
Each device has installation procedures, some are fully
supported by XP (if you have all the updates and patches
from Windows Update) and some require an installation
program or software. Read what each device, such as
printer and scanners, requires. Often you must install the
software/drivers BEFORE you plug the USB cable in the first
time. If you do it wrong you get the wrong drivers and must
remove the device to purge the registry.
