Unintentional keyboard shortcuts...

A friend sent me this question, I hope someone can help:

I have a new laptop (Toshiba) and although its awesome when I'm sick or
can't get on my desktop, there are drawbacks. I LOVE it, but there are
certain letters that I type or a sequence of them that seem to be shortcuts
of some kind and really screw me up when typing. Does anybody know where I
can find these shortcuts to get rid of them? I've checked The Accessibility
Wizard to no avail.

Since you didn't tell us exactly what the letters are shortcuts *to*,
it's hard to say. However, Toshiba loads their computers with a lot of
proprietary programs that start with the system. One of them is a
hotkey manager. Look at all the Toshiba programs carefully. Also, be
aware that with laptops pressing the FN key in combination with another
key produces special things. Read the manual that came with the Toshiba
for more information. If you didn't get a paper manual (probably
didn't), the manual is on the computer under one of the Toshiba
entries.

Shortcut keys are listed in Help and Support. Activation of said
shortcuts are not normally an issue. (unless one is a "poor typist")
Perhaps providing a better description of the "problem" shortcut will
reveal the activation sequence, and more specific recommendations could
be made.
