I do not appear to have the thing in the control panel at
remove/add programs which would allow me to get rid of
windows 2000 and trying to do it in DOS doesn't seem to
work for me either. I need to get it out of my computer.
Can anyone give me a sep by step prodcedure, (for dummies),
that would help me?

If you are going to install winXP, just boot from the CD
(you will need to go into bios at startup to change the
boot sequence) and follow the onscreen prompts. At one
point you will be given the option to delete/format the
drive/partition. Select the win2K partition to delete,
then quit setup in order not to allow setup to remember
the lost drive letter (thanks to Dave Patrick). Then you
can restart.

If installing winXP is not what you want, post again.
