Uninstalling when program is not on add/remove list

I am trying to uninstall the McAfee Security Center so as
to be able to reinstall my VirusScan Online program with
the newest version. (I was getting an error when
attempting install)

I went to add/remove programs, and selected McAfee
Security Center. It said uninstall was completed, and the
item is gone from the add/remove programs list...however,
when I click on the icon that remains in my start menu,
the Security Center comes up!

How can I go in and remove a program if it does not
appear on the add/remove programs list?
