Uninstalling SP2

I have XP Home Edition and I have installed SP2 and I want to know if I can
safely uninstall it using ADD/REMOVE. I cannot get AVG 7 to work. I've made
posts here as well as to the Grisoft's forum with no response. The only
other thing I can think to do is uninstall SP2, install AVG 7 and then
re-install SP2. I think the firewall is somehow blocking it because I cannot
get it to connect for updates although I have configured the firewall
according to the Grisoft's documentation. Any thoughts on this would be
appreciated.

did you exit avg 7 before you installed sp2, if not i would try uninstalling sp2, then update your avg, and then right click your avg icon in the task bar, and choose quit avg control centre , then install your sp2 again, and then get your avg going again and if you have a firewall , dont use both that and the windows one , choose one or the other, you can disable the windows one easily, hope this works for you.

After weeks of trying, I was finally successful with the AVG 7
installation today. I did nothing different. It just worked for some reason
today. Thanks so much for responding!
