uninstalling Norton anativirus and firewall

I have tried many times to uninstall Norton antivirus and firewall and it
does not seem to work, I am still getting messages from the antivirus and
when I try to uninstall the firewall I get a message that other programs
running need this program. I want to install another program, How can I
uninstall Norton? It did not work for the firewall from the add/delete
programs.

Check wiht Symantec's web site and locate the correct enhanced removal tool
for NAV (antivirus) and NIS (antivirus wih firewall).

Norton products can be very hard to remove. Norton has special tools
available at the above link. The tools and methods are different for
different versions.
