uninstalling network adapter and internet protocal(TCP/IP)

I tried to uninstall a network adapter but the system
hangs for a long time. I rebooted my machine and it was
uninstalled. I then tried to uninstall the internet
protocal(TCP/IP)and I received an error message that
informs me that I cannot uninstall the internet protocal
(TCP/IP)
