Uninstalling Netware - LAN and Wireless listing disappeared!

JK

I installed a network printer and thought it required NetWare, so I added the
drivers to my LAN configuration.
Ever since then my LAN and WAN listings have disappeared from my "Network
Connections" window and I can't find a way to uninstall Netware.

In Network Connections, click View > Refresh and see if the
connections appear.

Start the computer in "Safe mode with networking" and see if the
connections appear.

Look for relevant error messages in Event Viewer (in Control Panel >
Performance and Maintenance > Administrative Tools). For more
information, see:

You need to know that Netware is only required if you need to connect
to a Novell Netware server. You should be able to remove/uninstall
the protocol within the Network Connection LAN settings.

I tried - they didn't.

Nothing there.

In the end I went to the Lenovo site, downloaded the relevant Network
drivers, uninstalled the drivers in "System Properties" - "Device Manager"
and reinstalled the drivers. Lo and behold, the Network adapters then both
reappeared and I was able to Remove the Netware support.

However, now when I start up Windows I get a Win2000-style login screen and
the Shutdown window is also Win2000-style with a drop-down box instead of the
icons sitting in a row to Standby - Shut Down - Restart. I like the XP-style
windows and can't find a darn thing in Knowledge Base to get back to the
previous "look."

But that's a small item.

Nice going!

Go to Control Panel > User Accounts. Click "Change the way users log
on or off" and put a check mark in the box "Use the Welcome screen".

Thank you for the help about "Windows Logon." I was searching for the problem
under "Windows Logoff," since that was the part that bothered me. My system
once again looks like and works the way I want it too. Who needs Vista?!!!!
