Uninstalling large program

I want uninstall large program (Photoshop 7 tryout), then install
Photoshop full version. Not clear, will the uninstallation process
remove also proper registry entries? Is there a sense to do a system
restore to last date preceding of 'PS 7 tryout' ver. installation? (to
clear all registry entries).

That depends on the software. Most software does not remove all of the
related registry entries.

Uninstall that piece of trial software. If there are problems to install
the full version afterwards, you may want to run the System Restore tool
in addition.

This way, installing the full version without doing a System Restore,
we will leave old registry entries?

Again, that depends on the software and has nothing to do with WinXP.
More than often, some registry entries are not removed intentionally in
order to keep the program settings in case of reinstalling the software.
These old registry entries (if any) may or may not be overwritten by the
full version. This doesn't matter as long as the full version does not
complain during installation. Note that orphaned registry entries (if
any) do not harm usually unless they interfere with your full version.
Just go ahead as already recommended and use the System Restore tool as
the last resort only. Good luck.

There is no way to know what the uninstall will do. If you want more
information for that particular program contact Adobe. Orphaned entries in
the registry don't necessarily cause problems.
