I'm trying to uninstall and reinstall a network PCI card
and it's driver. However even though I uninstall the
driver from device manager then install the PCI card again
it doesn't ask for the driver some how XP(home) still has
a hold of the driver. And now I have network connection 1
and then when I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it
I now have network connection 2 and so on. How do I
completely remove this driver and hardware so XP doesn't
see it anymore. So I can do a clean re-install.

Hi,

How many network cards are shown in device manager?
If it only showed one lan card, it is OK. Then click
property to ensure the drivers has properly installed and
without conflicts.
Then go to control panel/network connection, right click
and remove all the network connections and then reboot.
Use the add new connection wizard to config the new
network connection.

Hope it helps
