When I installed Windows XP Home Edition I converted from FAT to NTFS.
I need to know if I can uninstall Windowns XP Home Edition so that I can
install windows 98.

No. When you converted to NTFS, you lost the ability to uninstall and go back to Windows 98. You will need to boot the computer with a DOS Boot disk, with CD-ROM support.

Once booted, run FDISK and remove the "Non-DOS" partition. Then recreate a new partition and format it.

Then reinstall 98 from your Win98 CD.
