Tried to use the uninstall in add\remove, XP is not listed. Tried "C:\windows\system32, osuninst.exe" did not work. Message can not find command. Already removed all other programs to fix problem. Still locking up and finding trojon viruses and explore is still loading unwanted web pages.

Install xp cd,restart computer, boot to xp cd,recovery, press enter ke
for password,at cmd screen type:DiskPart In the new window delete xp
when the disk is in "raw",type:EXIT In cmd screen type:FORMAT C: /FS:ntf
When its thru type:EXIT Reboot to xp cd,select install xp.You'd already have bee
in the installation screen, you might try the install xp instead of recovery however wit
the virus you have it might not,try first though, install new copy.

Jody,

Maybe you can make a Windows 98 boot floppy from a friend's computer.
With this you can boot to the command prompt and do what Andrew told
you.

Another place to look for boot disks is:
http://www.bootdisk.com

Good luck

Jody,

When you boot from CD or floppy, you just have to type Format C:
the program will ask you if you're sure, when you type y (yes), it'll
format the drive. If you have more partitions and want to format them
all, type Format D:
Format F:
etc.

You will be left with a clean drive on which you can install whatever
OS you want.

Type format /?
to see all the available options
