Hi, Leslie. Windows XP is your operating system. You cannot uninstall it
from within itself. Here are some links that may help you:

http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html - Clean Install

Perhaps if you'd post back with a clear description of why you want to
uninstall XP, we might be able to help you further.

Cheers,

Hi, Leslie. Windows XP is your operating system. You cannot uninstall it
from within itself.

Yes you can provided some certain caveats apply.

1.) The XP was an upgrade installed over a previous OS

2.) You said yes when asked during the upgrade if you wanted to save
the previous OS.

3.) You have not converted the drive to NTFS from FAT

If all these apply then you would have a listing for uninstalling XP
in Add/remove

Obviously one or more of these do not apply to the original
poster, meaning the links you supplied would be appropriate.

However your blanket statement that XP can not be uninstalled from
within itself is incorrect.

If the Uninstall XP is not listed in your add/remove then one or more
of the following apply.

1.) Your install of XP was not done as an upgrade over a previous OS

2.) You did not elect to save the previous OS when asked during setup
of XP.

3.) You converted the drive from FAT to NTFS

In this case you would need to format the drive and install your
previous operating system clean.

Other posters have supplied links to this information so I will not
duplicate them in this post.

You can't literally "uninstall it" (unless you did an upgrade and
elected to save the prebious version, and the drive isn't NTFS).
To take Windows off the computer, you just format the drive; of
course that entails the loss of everything on the drive.

Sorry, no. No E-mail support.

Greetings --

If you performed an upgrade from Win98/Me, elected to backup the
old system files, and didn't convert the partition to NTFS, then all
you need do is boot into Safe Mode and Start > Control Panel >
Add/Remove Programs. All of these conditions _must_ be met for the
uninstall option to be available.
