uninstall windows 2000

hi
i had a windows 2000 and i tried to install the xp.
now i'm running both in my pc....
a friend told me to go to "dos" and type something like c:\format but i´m not going anywhere
can somebody tell me a clean way of taking everything out of my pc so i can install xp professional?

Change your bios settings to boot from the XP cd. You can then format the C
partition and install XP.

Your friend's advive would have been correct in earlier versions
of Windows, but since there's no DOS in either Windows 2000 or
XP, it's not possible to do that.

Just boot from the Windows XP CD and follow the prompts for a
clean installation. It will do the reformat for you.
