uninstall Silverlight

When I try to uninstall Silverlight from add/remove, it says the patch
package cannot be located and to verify its location.....
I do not understand this response.
Any ideas to remove it appreciated

Re-install SilverLight, and then you will probably be able to remove it.
Since you seem to have a corrupt copy, you should try to get a fresh copy.

I went to the M.S. site and told it to install Silver light but it said it
was already installed. There was a Silverlight 2-beta-that could be
downloaded but I was unsure.
What to do and thank you?

You can try removing the registry key for Silverlight and try the install
again.

I checked the box at the top of add/remove to display all downloads and there
was another Silverlight; I clicked to remove it and it said this installation
cannot be uninstalled.
Thank you for the advice re registry keys but I can't handle that task.
I have since installed, by disk, sp3 + all seems ok.
Is it possible one cannot uninstall Silverlight by add/remove?

Yes, that's possible.

In that case, you should try using the Windows Installer Cleanup
Utility:

How does the Windows Installer Cleanup work? Does it Remove all Programs
listed?
