Hi All,
I have a couple of problems with AOL after installing service pack 2. Is
there anyway to check that the service pack 2 installed correctly, & that it
is a definate AOL problem? Or is there anyway to uninstall service pack 2?

Many thanks.

Ian.

My question is related, sorry I can not help, After
loading service pack 2 I can no longer open any
attachments in aol. I don't think it is an AOL problem.

Thank you, Kelly Jo

you are better off doing a system restore before sp2 as I did because I had
mega problems after the install
sp2 gone all problems gone
maybe ms will fix the problems everyone seems to be having and come out with
a sp2a

i never had this kind of a problem with sp1

Neat trick, system restore, I have installed SP2 3 times. The first time was
via the "network install", it wiped out all restore points! The second time
was on a clean install of XP with the network install, it left SR useless.
The third time was via the WUD install, it also wiped out all restore
points. This will, no doubt, cause a long thread, but I think SP2 is about
like AOL and Norton SW, a virus in itself!!

There is a long list of applications that have problems after installing
SP2, including a lot of MS's own applications. Some say that the
incompattability issue is up to the software manufacurere, what about MS's
own?? I have never had a problem with XP until I installed SP2. Now the
computer freezes when I open OE, I have crap installed that I don't want,
and no choice in the matter.

No, my computer is not obsolete, it is running on a P4 3.2, not
over-clocked, and the oldest piece of hardware is an NVIDIA TI 200, even it,
has the latest drivers!

I have concluded, MS took a giant step backwards with the introduction of
SP2!! The only reason I would even consider it would be, to be eligible for
future updates. For now, I am going back to XP SP1.

FWIW, JAX
