Uninstall Outlook 07 and reinstall Outlook 03

My wife is fed up with how slow Outlook 07 is so I've uninstalled Outlook 07
and am failing to get Outlook 03 to work now. I've uninstalled Office 07
Beta, Explorer Beta and Messenger Beta. I've reinstalled Office 03 and
Explorer 6.0. All works fine, but Outlook will not start up. The error
message I get is, "Cannot Start Microsoft Outlook. MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or
the wrong version. This could have been caused by installing other messaging
software. Please reinstall Outlook."

I've tried reinstalling Outlook 2003, Office 2003 and within the
Windows/System32 folder tried to click and get the fixmapi.exe app to fix the
problem - no success or change to the error message. I've also renamed all
the mapi.ddl files I could find to "old", restarted the PC restarted Outlook
03 and the same message appears.

Can anyone help at all?

The only real correct way to remove a beta application, especially as
significant as Outlook, is to reinstall from scratch or to reimage the
workstation from the backup you took before installing Outlook 2007.

What do you mean by "reinstall from scratch"? Does this mean re-installing
XP? Or uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook 03 - in which case how do I
ensure all elements of Outlook 03 are removed in order to install from
scratch?
