Re Unidentified publisher. Don't run the program unless you know ...
Different applications created using Visual Studio and C# run without this
message popping up. However, one other application does keep on showing this
message. All applications that were compared, were produced on the box on
which they are being run. I am unable to trace the cause of the difference
and to get rid of this annoying message.

Please may I have suggestions as to the cause of this difference in
behavior, so I can get rid of this annoyance.
Adrian.

Yes, my friend, I read those posts myself before posting my query, and did
not find them useful.

Well, in all fairness, you didn't indicate that you did read these.
Also, you aren't providing any sample code, project settings, or target
environments that you are seeing this behavior on.

If you could provide those, it would be of some help.

Adrian,

I did, and you actually provide nothing along the lines of information
that would help anyone diagnose your problem, hence my reason for asking for
more. Without that information, you are really trimming down the number of
people who can possibily provide a solution for you.

The more information you provide, the more likely you will get a
response which will suit your needs.

It isn't feasible and it isn't desirable to publish the code of the
applications concerned. They are commercial products. Anyone who has
experienced my problem will recognize it without looking at the code.

Please remember that Nicholas (as well as anybody who post here) is trying
to help you. So a little appretiation is in order.

Windows has some rules that depending of the "source" of the program you get
that message. IIRC you get it if the source of the program is not considered
"trusted". For example if you downloaded the program from the internet.

I think that the only way to get rid of the message is if you declare the
source trusted or if you sign your code.

Note: I haven;t read the links Nicholas provided so maybe you already know
teh above
