Unidentified Flying Icons

I see an unidentified icon popping up occassionally in the startup tray
(right corner of startup bar). The moment you move your mouse over it to see
its tag it will disappear. The icon shape is (I think) a lens superimposed
over an envelope although it could be a camera image which gives the eerie
feeling of someone looking at you from the screen.

It happens only when I am connected to the internet. Anybody knows what is
this unidentified flying icon?

cheers

It's your antivirus program examining incoming (or even outgoing) email.
