unicode does not work on Word 2002

I tried pasting some Hindi words from a website into Word 2002 and it does
not show the way it should - just some squares is all I see. I tried
reinstalling Office XP but it said "this package could not be
opened........." I'm on Win XP SP3.

Do you have the Hindi font installed? Is it the same font as you are
copying?

Similar to the other reply, have you tried changing the font of the
non-displaying characters to "Arial Unicode MS"? Many fonts just don't have
glyphs for very many 'exotic' Unicode characters.
