Unexplained system resets

I recently had major problems with my system resetting for no reason. BSODs
abounded, many blaming my graphics card. Also used to get the
"IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" message. Error reports sent to Microsoft suggested
I should replace my m/b, RAM, chip and/or power supply ... which is funny,
cos I just had!!

Turns out that the system resets were caused by running the Zone Alarm
firewall with the Windows firewall turned on. Let this be a lesson to you
all ;-) ....

ONLY RUN ONE FIREWALL!!

Cheers,

Mark

My version of Zone Alarm - version 6 - automatically turns off the Windows firewall, as will any SP2-compatible firewall.

The lesson is for you to learn, since it is well known that only one software firewall should be running.

And yet, there will be others out there who will find themselves in my
situation, and it was for their benefit that I posted ... especially as the
error messages generated are completely erroneous as far as diagnosing the
problem is concerned.
