On my WindowsXP system I keep getting a dialog box coming up which includes
the following txt:

IDS-CONF-DIALOG-UPD
IDS-DIALOG-PERMISSION-UPD
OS-DIALOG-O
-DIALOG-CAN
IDS-CONFIGURE

Can anybody help me understand what this is all about.

Many thanks - Rob

Not a Windows message. If you didn't install third-party software prior
to the first encounter, find out the malware status of your system.

Many thanks - MS Defender indicates all is well and no new software has been
installed ... so a bit of a mystery for the moment.
Thanks for your help. Rob

The "Windows Defender" is not an Anti-Virus. Update your Anti-Virus and
see if there are any findings. Use the classic Anti-Spyware tools as well.
Thanks for your help.

You're welcome, good luck.

Funny, there's on reference to those messages in a Google Search. But
there are 39,000,000 hits on IDS. Do you know what IDS software you have
installed? Possibly your ISP software..

Many thanks for your advice - I have Norton AV that has not been uninstalled
after the subscription ran out and I now suspect this to be the reason for
the dialog box - sorry to have taken your time. Thanks again - Rob
