Stopping Dialog boxes popping to the front....

Does anyone know if the is anyway, like a registry tweak etc, to stop
ANY dialog box taking priority over what you are doing?

Sometimes if you are playing a game, the screen will minimise to the
task bar, and you are presented with the desktop and a dialog box
saying your download has finished or something...

Or, when you are typing something, dialog boxes pop-up to the front
and interrupts what you are doing, or worse still, the keys you are
pressing chooses one of the options in the dialog box and an action is
taken [OMG it has just happened: I was typing this message and a
dialog box has just popped up saying my download has completed, and I
have just inadvertently selected to open the folder it was downloaded
in Grrrrrr]

Why can't things that require your attention just flash in the task-
bar to let you know, and just let you carry on with what you are doing
- it kills me and is extremely bad programming! Unless I am being
warned that I am being hacked, virus infected, someone is coming up
the stairs to kill me, or the world is just about to end - leave me
the f*ck alone, and let me get on with what I am doing!

So, if anyone can help me - I would be forever thankful )
