Unexpectred error; quitting

Today (6 Sept 2005)I downloaded and successfully installed
the latest version of MS Anti-Spyware. I was logged into
the administrators account of a Win 2000 (latest updates)
system. I have since found that when other users (without
admin rights) log in they see a small (less than
informative) dialogue box headed 'Error' and
saying 'Unexpected error; quitting'. Application log
events at the time say 'The Open Procedure for
service "IAS" in DLL "C:\WINNT\System32\iasperf.dll"
failed. If their rights are changed to administrator, the
problem does not occur. Uninstall of MS AntiSpyware also
stopped the problem. Is there a get round for this?

I too am experiencing the same thing after updating to
the latest version (1.0.615). The only difference is
that I'm using Windows XP (SP2 with all updates), and the
user account that is experiencing the problem *is* a
member of the Administrators group.

I'm surprised more people haven't commented on this, or
reported it yet. I hope this gets fixed...

For a while I thought I was not going to get a reply to
this! and yes - I was surpised that this fundamental
problem was not replied with a 'read the FAQ' response!
All I can say is that under W2K the error message would
not appear on other users if I gave them admin rights.
