Unexpected Shutdowns

I need some adice on the following please:

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with xp home edition with - pent 3
processor, 1.10ghz processor, 256mb ram, 20gb hd which I use from time to
time as I mainly use my Compaq desktop.

I have noticed over the last couple of months that once I start the laptop,
everything is running ok for about 20 mins and the the machine just powers
down without warning! I usually have the mains adapter connected and the
battery power in usually pretty high. What could be causing the problem?

I have not had any other problems other than this.

I'm having the same problem with a Toshiba p4 Laptop. I've heard that these
have a tendancy to overheat, and that that causes the problem. I've had this
system for three years with no problems. Would like to hear form others on
this problem as well.
