Unexpected Error

I'm trying to access documents that were originally
created on another PC. The laptop I'm using now
says 'Unexpected Error' when I'm trying to retrieve from
diskette. I've tried using Notepad and Wordpad but get
the same message. This laptop is using Windows XP, but
the documents were created in Windows 2000 (I think),
help! I really need to access these documents!

Move the files to the hard drive and then open. The operating system hasn't much to
do with your not being able to open the files, it will be the application. What
application are you using?
