Unexpectadly uits and no compatibillity tab?

I downloaded Matroska codec so I could play a certain anime. I couldnt play
the anime without it. But then I convert it to avi but still need the codec
and try to import to moviemaker it works. But then I add music to the
timeline and movie maker unexpectadly quits on me just shuts down
So then I look it up to see the problem and see that I have to turn off that
codec in the compatibillity tab. But heres where it goes wrong! There was no
compatibillity tab. It seems I overwrote windows moviemaker 2.1 with movie
maker 2.0 which doesnt have the tab back when I was trying to fix it without
reading and redownloading it.
So I cant overwrite it to 2.1 because that comes in service pack two but
since this computer is brand new it came with service pack to already
installed so I cant re-install it so im stuck with version 2.0 which keeps
shutting down because i cant turn off the stupid codec cus theres no
compatibillity tab....
