Problem importing video file

I have taken a video from YouTube using a Firefox add-on. I've converted it
into a WMV file, hoping this would make it functional in Movie Maker, as I
need some clips from it to finish an Anime Music Video I'm working on.
However, when i go to import the video into Movie Maker, I get the following
message:
"The file C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Desktop\daidarkclips.wmv
cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not
installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install
the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the
file again."

I have Movie Maker set to automatically download codecs, but it apparently
can't find the one I need in this case. I can't get this file to play
anywhere, in Media Player or Movie Maker. Does anyone know what I can do
about this?
