i ended a process and all the things on my desktop disappeared. the things
like my shortcuts and my taskbar...how to i get those things back or restore
that process???

What process? It sounds like you ended explorer.exe. You can restart
explorer.exe from the Task Manager by doing "New Task" or simply reboot
the computer. Otherwise, post back with more information.
