Hi Hopeless.

To over cum this, i think revert back to a point that everything was
working well is the best solution, then after that do a scan with your
Virus scanner and WD, the best to do that is in safe mode. Also download
CCleaner, http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
Install it without the Yahoobar! Run it to get rid of the Crap,
Let us know how this worked for you.

Hello hopeless,

I would also recommend:
Use of MicroSoft Removal Tool.

The following describes my personal use of the tool including information
derived from "hands on " experience.
In general terms this information is not available on the MicroSoft
information pages; leading to the false impression that the tool is activated
each month on "Update Tuesday", runs once in silent mode and then disappears
in a cloud of virtual smºke.
To the contrary the MicroSoft Removal Tool is always resident on your PC;
it's size increasing each month as additions are made to it's
search capability.
I have read ALL the information on the tool available on the MicroSoft site
so I would be obliged for your restraint in not posting non relevant
plagiaries and restrict your posts to any Practical problems in getting the
tool to work. THANK YOU.

1) The tool in default will be found in the directory
C:\Windows\System32\MRT.exe.
2) Navigate to the MRT location.
3) Right click on the icon representing the MRT.exe file and left click
Create a shortcut in the contextual menu.
4) Holding the left mouse button down drag the shortcut icon outside the
"Explorer" window and release.
5) Close the "Explorer" window.
6) Right click in an unoccupied are of the desktop and rearrange your icons
as you prefer.
7) Observe your new shortcut icon; you will see that it is a "Window" with
accompanying sponge and soap suds ready for wºrk.
8) Double click with left button to activate the MicroSoft Removal Tool.
9) Immediately you have available the initial Interface Window; click on the
"Continue" button located lower left.
10) Immediately the second Interface Window appears;this window contains a
choice of three types of analysis.
a) Rapid Analysis
b) Complete Analysis
c) Personalised Analysis
A description of the characteristics of each analysis is given next to
each alternative.
Incidentally this multiple choice appearde as an additional
alternative with the March update of the tool, not existing previously.
11) Select one of the three choices; click on "Continue" button to commence
your scan.
12) Immediately the Scan Window will open; watch the little green blocks
progress across the scan progress rectangle.
13) Immediately the Analysis Results Window will appear indicating the
result of the scan.
14) Click on the "active" Results of scan title.
15) Immediately a drop down vertical window will appear containing listing
the current items included in the MicroSoft Removal Tool.
16) If you are connected on-line you can click on any particular item and
immediately a connection will be made to the MicroSoft
page giving explicit details regarding the particular Virus or Malware
concerned.
In closing I would just like to add that I find it useful to each month
load the current MRT.exe file on to a USB flash memory key
with a "launcher" installed as one of the complement of programmes ready
for any PC which is full of "shit".

In case you didn't know (but I think you do and it is more for those reading
this thread)...

The utility is...
%windir%\system32\MRT.exe

Command line switches...

/? or /HELP = displays the command line switches
/Q = quiet
/N = detect only
/F = force extended scan
/F:Y = force extended scan and automatically clean infected files

The following is the resultant in the log file...

%windir%\Debug\mrt.log

Hi Tom,

OT.
Maybe the executable error is caused by Adobe :)

I have a wording suggestion:

"To the contrary the Micrsoft Malicious Software Removal tool remains on
your PC:"

Resident often implies that the application is running--that it resides in
RAM. The MRT does remain on your disk, but it isn't running--just available
to be used if desired.
