Understanding Frontpage terms

G

Gordon Padwick

Perhaps, like me, you're new to FrontPage and you picked up a book you hoped
would get you quickly aboard. You dived into the book and soon found you
were confused by terms you didn't understand, and weren't defined in the
book. Such terms as Page, Frame, Frameset, Template, Table, Style, and more,
all of which have specific meanings within the FrontPage environment. The
several books about FrontPage I have all use these terms without defining
what they mean. Relief, however, is in sight. Just go to FrontPage Help and
look for Glossary. There you can find definitions (not all adequate) that
describe the meanings of terms used within FrontPage. The authors of the
books about FrontPage should, at least, refer their readers to Microsoft's
glossary.

To every publisher of books about computer (and other) matters, I say:
Please refuse to publish any technical book for which the author doesn't
provide a glossary of terms used in that book.

I've written several books about computer subjects, most recently published
by Que. Each of my books contains a glossary of terms.
