Underline?

When writing the name of books on a website, should the title be underlined?
I am suggesting to co-volunteer that underlining generally means it is a
link when on a website. Should I underline titles or italize and make titles
in bold text or do all three?

Thanks for opinions!

Good observation, Susan. As a rule of thumb, don't make them look like
hyperlinks. How you implement that is up to you.

It's really up to you, but people usually expect underlined things to be
links. On the other hand, if you have a good reason to use it (and this
sounds like a good reason -- italics are so ugly on the web), then go
ahead....
