I'm getting a ton of incoming emial notifying me that my
email message was undeliverable - problem is this is email
that I have not sent. Typicl message is:

Hi.
Message from microsoft.net

Undelivered mail to (e-mail address removed)

Message follows -

Or some variation. I have checked repeatedly for viruses
with the most up to date McAffee products. I have followed
Microsoft recommendations for the proceedure to check for
the mydoom virus (though this was occuring before that
outbreak), and I don't open email from sources I don't
know.

I don't get this. My isp is verizon - it's dsl.

thx

It is the result of over-zealous admins, servers and Anti-virus that insists
on sending NDRs for every frickin' message that is not delivered. It is not
you, this is originating from someone who is infected and has your address.
The mail is sent from their computer with your return address so that is why
the AV is sending you a NDR.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the SWEN virus, all mail sent to my personal account will be deleted
without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, herb good asked:
