Undelete a file that has been deleted during an explorer cut operation

Folks,

Is there any way to undelete a file thats been removed from an NTFS
disk during a cut and paste to another disk?

I've just lost the disk I pasted it onto.

I've tried the usuals - winundelete and various others, but they only
seem to be able to recover files deleted with the "delete" command, and
not files that were cut and pasted in explorer.

Thanks,
Lauren

you might use your restore feature
first create a restore point now/for today.
next do a restore back to when the file was alive
then get that file to somewhere safe
then restore you pc back to today....

Alas the file was on my Desktop, and so won't have been included the
restore archive.

not sure...
but if you mean you lost that partition, instead of a drive,
then you can probably recover the lost partition with
software....

try acronis disk director. the trial wont let you
recover the lost partition, but it will let you look into that
unrecognizable/lost partition for file/folders...(its like
it has x-ray vision..)

I bought it and would not discourage you from
getting it as well...

other than this, i have no more ideas, sorry...

No, System Restore can not possibly help him. System Restore monitors the
operating system only, and does nothing for user data files. It is *not* a
substitute for data backup.
