Undeletable Message --> problem

Don Bouchard

There is an email I composed with a fairly large attachment in my Outbox
(Outlook 2007, Vista SP1) which I cannot remove: I get a message that I
cannot delete it because Outlook has already started to send it. The message
is not getting to the addressee and is causing megabyte Mailer-Daemon-
Failure to Deliver messages which are overwhelming Outlook. How can I delete
this message from the Outbox to stop this cycle of sending failures and huge
Failure to Deliver replies?
Please help.

My Office Outlook 2007 shows emails 'stuck' in the 'Outbox' folder when
sending large attachments to multiple contacts. I am only able to cut and
paste them into or 'move to' the 'Archive folder' to get rid of them.

Also I am unable to 'Empty' the 'Deleted items' folder completely. I can
only delete say from No. 92 to No. 33 email - If I attempt to delete any
more than this from the 'Deleted Items' folder I get the following Microsoft
error message - "The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If
this problem persists, restart Outlook".

I restarted Outlook with no success. Any ideas anyone please?

If you take Outlook offline or open it in Safe mode, can you delete the
messages then?

Hi Ben,

I am having the same exact problem and I have not been able to fix it. I did
try the work offline idea but that didn't work either. Did you get you
problem resolved? If so may I inquire as to how you were able to correct this
issue?
Mahalo for your assistance.
