Uncompressed analog capture

I would like to capture uncompressed 720x480 30fps from my s-vhs video camera
through an ATI 9600 All-in_wonder video card. Movie maker doesn't seem to
have a selection for this in the video settings screen of the video capture
wizard. The closest I can come to is 2.1Mbps 720x480 30fps. Any compression
adds blur to moving subjects. (a natural result of the compression process)

I have done this on Windows ME with Pinacle Studio Ver 7, 8, and 9, but that
program locks up my computer quite often and now wont run in after installing
Windows XP.

Also I have a new issue after buying a computer with Windows Vista.
Moviemaker has no analog capture available at all!!!

Movie Maker was never designed to capture analogue video and that you ever
got it to work in the first place is very lucky.

The best way to capture analogue video is to purchase a decent a-d
converter. This might be a digital camcorder which has analogue inputs and
allows you to pass through the signal to the computer using firewire, or a
dedicated machine like the canopus advc range, which again connect via
firewire and will allow you to capture as dv.avi.

dv.avi is still compressed, taking up 13gb per hour. Uncompressed avi takes
up 65gb per hour and needs a beast of a pc and apps which allow the use of
uuncompressed avi to work.
