unattended install on new drive

M

Microsoft

Ocassionaly I need to install w2k pro on a computer with a freshly formated
drive. Is there a way to perform an unattended installation? I only need
to do this every couple of months and the machine configuration and setup is
different on most of the computers.

Thanks

Hi

Create an answer file, name it winnt.sif and save it to a
floppy. Boot from the cd and then insert the floppy.

Windows will detect the floppy and use the answer file
to complete the installation.

You can create an answer file by using the going to Tools -
deploy.cab and then setupmgr on the windows 2000 cd or you
can use the windows 2000 resource kit.

Rob,

Actually, the floppy need to be in the Floppy Drive
before you turn on the machine. It goes that quickly!
