Unaccessible File

Just returned from Hurricane Frances evacuation and find Norton Windows
Doctor telling me that " ...\System32\MAPISRVR.EXE" cannot access a
necessary file. "gapi32.dll" (The problem cannot be repaired).
A search finds the file in CommonFile\System\Mapi\1033\NT
Using a Dell 4600 with 2.8 mhz, 512 RAM and XP Home.

Would someone tell me the significance of this error and what I must do to
"fix it"?
