Unable to write $Mft.

I woke my PC from Hibernation to find a warning that my PC was unable to
write E:\$Mft.

E drive is my USB data drive.

Anything I should be doing about this?

If System Restore is enabled on the E:\ drive suggest it be turned off.
*Right* click My Computer either on the Desktop or the Start Menu and
choose Properties.
Click the System Restore tab
Click on the E:\ drive to highlight it and then click the Settings button.
Put a check mark in the box next to Turn off system restore ...

More info on MFT then you'd ever want to know:

6 years later but I have found this question and reply very helpful as I had the same problem and this is the solution I finally found that worked.

Many thanks
